St. Paul’s Council presents $25,000 in donations to 10 causes



(May 17th – 2013) The St. Paul’s Council of the Knights of Columbus will be presenting $25,000 in donations to 10 St. John’s area causes on Friday, May 17th.

"Charity - helping those most in need - has always been the first principle of the Knights of Columbus," said Grand Knight, Peter Whittle.

The following organizations will receive $2,500 to assist them with their activities in support of the community:

·      The Single Parents Association of Newfoundland and Labrador.
·      The Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach Centre, George Street United Church.
·      The Community Food Sharing Association.
·      The Right to Life Association.
·      St. Patrick’s Mercy Home.
·      Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.
·      Emmaus House, St. Thomas’ Church.
·      Prostrate Cancer Association – Canadian Cancer Society.
·      The Gathering Place.
·      St. Bonaventure's College.

The event will take place at The Lantern, 35 Barnes Road at 12:30 p.m on May 17th,

SECOND DEGREE OPPORTUNITY

Hi Brothers:

A quick notice that there will be an opportunity to take your second degree on Tuesday May 21st. 

If you have not taken your Second Degree, this would be an excellent opportunity to do so.


Members of the Knights of Columbus are united in the body of Christ, ritualized and embodied in their full participation in the Catholic Church. Their loyalty to Christ and the unity which He encompasses, is realized through their commitment to one another and their local, regional, and global church. The Second Degree helps Knights realize their true potential as Christian brothers and the sacred power of unity.

MAY 15 GENERAL MEETING

A quick reminder that our general meetings occur on the third Wednesday of each month, unless notified of a change.

This month's meeting takes place on May 15th. The Rosary is schedule for 7:00 with the meeting starting at 7:30.

This meeting will include of annual election of officers.

ROSARY TONIGHT! PLEASE ATTEND

Brothers:

I humbly request that you please take an hour from your hectic schedules to support the tonight's rosary. Activities like this deserve our devotion and respect. We have all taken oaths as Catholic gentleman to promote our church. Let us not let our order down. Take your family and let us enjoy the celebration of the Holy Rosary together.

The  eleventh annual Rosary and Light Procession sponsored by the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree  takes place this year at the Basilica of St. John The Baptist tonight  beginning  at 7.30 PM with Father Ray Earle as the presider.

All knights are urged to attend along with their families and friends.

 A reception will follow at St. Bonaventure's College.
