St. Paul’s Council presents $25,000 in donations to 10 causes
(May 17th – 2013) The St. Paul’s Council of the Knights of Columbus will be presenting $25,000 in donations to 10 St. John’s area causes on Friday, May 17th.
"Charity - helping those most in need - has always been the first principle of the Knights of Columbus," said Grand Knight, Peter Whittle.
The following organizations will receive $2,500 to assist them with their activities in support of the community:
· The Single Parents Association of Newfoundland and Labrador.
· The Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach Centre, George Street United Church.
· The Community Food Sharing Association.
· The Right to Life Association.
· St. Patrick’s Mercy Home.
· Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.
· Emmaus House, St. Thomas’ Church.
· Prostrate Cancer Association – Canadian Cancer Society.
· The Gathering Place.
· St. Bonaventure's College.
The event will take place at The Lantern, 35 Barnes Road at 12:30 p.m on May 17th,
The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic family fraternal service organization with 1.8 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guatemala, Guam and Saipan.
